2019 was a successful year for SOCC. We set goals, and met them. Some of our highlights were:

  • Successfully advocating for SOCC's room change to a bigger space.        - Our efforts and the support of our allies resulted in SOCC's  move to        Rooms SUB B122 and B120, allowing us greater capacity to do our       work.

  • Launch of PULSE 2019 with spoken word. performances, and live music by indigenous artists.

  • Creation of a professional website, and digital zine archive at soccollective.com

  • Successful Cultural Appropriation Movie Night.

  • Bi-monthly collective dinners.

Our VISION 2020 includes:

  • Running of referendum question to increase SOCC's  allocated student fee levy funding from 70cents per full time student (currently), to add an additional $1 for full time students.

  • Successful Black History Month Programming.

  • Launch of PULSE 2020.

  • Running collaborative events with other advocacy groups, and community organizations.

  • Furniture purchase, and upgrades to room design.

  • Consolidating organizational constitution.
